I design and deliver programs across impact, customer, talent and people.

Repping a true customer-first approach, I have 12+ years of experience driving change using human-centred design (HCD) and Agile methodologies to build solutions that create impact.

I was part of the founding People team at Hireup. I scaled the support office team from 35 to 230+ employees in three years, building the Talent Acquisition function from the ground up (team, strategy, brand and operations - 3 x direct reports).

Following this, I moved into a strategic projects role in the Impact team. I was responsible for driving critical impact outcomes for the business, including the design, delivery and management of Hireup’s most celebrated impact, customer, and employee programs.

I love big-picture thinkers, candid feedback, scrappy teams, healthy boundaries and working cross-functionally to deliver crazy big goals that influence real change for people and planet.

What I bring

  • Designed, delivered and managed Hireup’s first-ever community grants program for Co-CEO and Co-founder, Laura O’Reilly - I utilised our Impact team’s SIMNA award-winning social impact measurement (SIM) data to design a program that created deep impact on the lives of the successful grant winners. With limited resources and access to other teams, this was a fast-moving project that had me leading the charge on every part of the program, including but not limited to research, strategy, community interviews/co-design, cross-functional stakeholder management, experience design (XD), financials, legal, governance, strategic partnerships, brand, marketing and communications, copy/content (web, PR, email, social, blogs) and application, assessment and selection design, build and management.

  • Designed the program concept, and led the research, strategy, execution of the program, building and supporting a cross-functional project group of 12 x people (strategy, product, marketing, events, legal, service) to deliver Hireup’s first ever support worker (customer) recognition program. This exciting and successful community-led program gave Hireup customers (people with disability) the opportunity to vote for, and celebrate their support workers (Hireup employees) and their role in enabling people with disability across Australia to pursue their good life. Out of 24 finalists, we shortlisted 16 candidates and celebrated 8 winners who received a cash prize.

  • Scaled the impact of the Hireup Board Observership Program after its initial pilot. This involved end-to-end project management of the program, defining and implementing process improvement, managing recruitment and onboarding of board observers, building relationships and supporting the board observers, assessing and communicating the impact of the program on our observers and board members, promoting the program and creating content to scale the impact of the program; such as the "Impact Roundtable: Leadership, Employment and Disability" online event and the design and launch of the "how-to guide" for other organisations wanting to replicate the program.

  • Partnered with Media Diversity Australia and a collective of disability experts with lived experience to produce Australia’s first-ever Disability Reporting Handbook - a detailed handbook to guide better newsroom reporting of people with disability. This after-hours passion project allowed me to contribute to developing a (sorely needed) tool that creates real impact by helping reporters interview and represent people with disability in a safe, informed and inclusive way. My role in this group was to use my bias for action to keep the project team and work progressing and ensure we met our launch deadline. I also co-wrote chapters, reviewing and providing feedback whilst building relationships with disabled people's organisations (DPOs) to ensure the relevant peak representatives in the disability sector reviewed and approved the guide ahead of its being published.

  • Scaled Hireup from 35 to over 230+ head office employees in under three years. This involved spearheading executive and leadership recruitment, building the Hireup Talent function (team, processes and strategy) from the ground up, and fostering a Talent team culture grounded in trust, empathy and transparency, whilst remaining laser-focused on creating equitable and inclusive recruitment experiences that delivered high performing, values-aligned employees at speed, whilst navigating the ever-evolving demands of hyper-growth.

Strategic projects:

Strengths

  • I thrive on taking calculated risks and embracing challenges; and believe a candid feedback culture grounded in a shared purpose is the secret sauce that allows teams to thrive.

  • I believe actions lead to tangible results. Balancing my bias for action and eye for detail allows me to test and learn and deliver quality outcomes at speed.

  • I see people as just that, people. I enjoy connecting on a human level, unpacking perspectives and ideas whilst maintaining a relentless focus on the customer.

  • I know how to harness the transformative power of a well-crafted message, whether that be sharing a founder's vision or creating on-brand copy for a landing page.
